Power Curve Restored After Blade Load Sensor Replacement

Issue

A drop in power curve performance was detected, showing that the turbine was operating in a reduced power mode. The most likely cause was a malfunction or parameter change in the blade load sensor, which triggered safe mode operation and limited power output.

Action

Continuous monitoring revealed that the turbine was running in safe mode with its output capped at 2.5 MW. The service team replaced and recalibrated the blade load sensor on blade C, followed by an encoder replacement after the turbine failed to restart. Post-maintenance monitoring showed a gradual return to the expected power curve, confirming that the turbine’s normal operation was restored.

Impact

150 MWh production increase
